Leaked photos suggest Arsenal have signed Granit Xhaka

Arsenal appear to have made their first signing of the summer with Swiss midfielder

Reports emerged during the week that Gunners boss Arsene Wenger was close to signing the Borussia Mochenglabach midfielder who would compete for a midfield spot with Santi Carzola, Aaron Ramsey, Mohammed Elneny, Jack Wilshere and Francis Coquelin. According to The Mirror UK, Xhaka flew into London on Friday ahead of his move from Monchengladbach.

The Gunners are believed to have agreed a fee of around £30million for the 23-year-old, who will add leadership, excellent technical ability and a penchant for a red cards to their midfield. The photos of Xhaka in an Arsenal shirt emerged in twitter and they looked real with the midfielder wearing the club’s new jersey.

Xhaka joined Gladbach in 2012, arriving for £6.3million from Swiss side Basel after a stellar year for the Swiss side, winning the league and cup double, with Xhaka named the Swiss Premier League’s young player of the year.
